Where Words Inspire, Connect, and Transform

The Shadow at My Back

It lingers where the lamplight dies
A shape without a face or eyes
It follows close but speaks no name
A whisper thick with quiet blame

I move, it moves, a tethered twin
Trapped beneath my paper skin
The darker thoughts I dare not speak
The hollow weight of growing weak

I close my eyes but still it stays
A shadow cast by distant days
